            The body. Whenever we start discussing health and fitness, this is where we tend to start. After all, it’s our instrument, our very own pre-assembled machine. Multiple systems working together simultaneously, getting us from place to place, day to day. It truly is a work of art.

            But like any machine, if it isn’t taken care of, things can go wrong.  So, it’s imperative that we take care of our bodies, each part of them. We only have the one, right? When your car breaks down, you can take it to the mechanic, or go to an auto parts store and fix it yourself. If it’s too far gone, you can buy a new one. It’s not so easy with our bodies. Why aren’t we giving them the same care and dedication we give our cars then?

            Working out and eating well isn’t only about losing weight or getting the perfect beach body. It’s about making sure each system – muscular, skeletal, respiratory and all the others – are working at peak performance and supporting each other. Our bodies are made to move, food is the fuel that helps it do so. These two things working in tandem can have miraculous results. You can be pain free. You can heal yourself and prevent injury and illness. You can be vibrant and active, enjoying more of your life.

            The body is beautiful. Love it, respect it, honor it.
